Devin made it Through Surgery!
Baby Devin made it successfully through his first open heart surgery! They said it would be 6-8 hours, and I think he clocked out with 7 1/2. Can't rush perfection, and that is fine by us. Dan & I just sat down with the surgeon who said everything went according to plan, and we can't ask for more than that. The next 24-48 hours are critical. As things could turn on a dime. Devin will have a lot more attention on him through the night to keep an eye on how his heart is handling all the new "wiring"!
Right now they are getting his room ready for him, so we haven't been able to see him yet.
We can't thank all of you enough for your prayers and thoughts today. We felt a continuous sense of peace, and actually had some really good family time with the boys playing Old Maid, Uno, and running around outside (I didn't do any running. Let's be real).
We continue to marvel at this little miracle boy who's already had 3 surgeries in his 9 days of life, and seems to be impacting so many others, and causing them to cry out to our Creator on his behalf. Devin may not know you, or ever know you this side of heaven, but we thank you.
We'll continue to update as we still have mountains to climb before we can bring him home.

ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Brittany taylor, I'm currently 21 years of age, and I wanna tell you my story, at the age of 3, I got really sick was in and out of doctors and hospitals, my mom took me to her doc one day and he said that my heart mummor didn't go away, and that I needed to have surgery right away or I could die, I had to rush to anarbor which is in Michigan, they had me into the room and me under the knife with in 3 hours,the doctor said it would be a on going process for the rest of my life, at the age of 10 I was told that if I was ever to get pregnant that it could kill me, that broke my heart into millions, then at the of 13 I had to have anther surgery, That went well, now here I am today at the age 21 with a blue eye baby boy, I want to tell you that anything and everything is possible just set your mind to it! You will grow up strong and beautiful! God has his hands wrapped around you every hour!!! I wish you best healing !!!
